Dawn Johnston sang the National Anthem as Ripley Mayor Craig Fitzhugh spoke to open the 9-11 Memorial Service Thursday afternoon on the Square in Downtown Ripley. Fitzhugh urged the crowd to look past political divisions in light of the recent shooting of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday. Fitzhugh, and Ripley Downtown Development Director Lee Johnston spoke of Americans coming together as they did in the days following the terrorists attacks in 2001.
